As a performer…
you’re trained to embody a story. Through song, through dance, through stage play- we are all actors, building a world for our audience to escape into.
No matter the toil and pain, often experienced as we perform - the goal is to “never let them see you sweat”. Make it look easy. Act after act… piece after piece, we dig deep inside to access the rawest parts of ourselves, keeping the goal in mind; share the story to inspire. Each time we perform we… Keep a dream alive. Keep a thought alive. Start conversation. Place the possibility of “more” in some one’s heart after the experience.
These past 6 months have been the longest, most grueling performance for us all. Collectively we’ve experienced so much, and we here at WR have smiled, laughed, brought joy and continuity into your home spaces through it all. As we continue to process these historic times, we now bring the curtain down and turn the bright, house lights on. Here’s the sobering truth: Without your financial support there is no WR Arts. As we approach the start of our fall session & our final financial quarter of the 2020 year, we’re operating at a great deficit. We’re always thankful for the generosity of this community, but with the state of all things surrounding child care and indoor spaces as they are- we need you now more than ever.
WR Arts is more than a dancing school. It’s a safe space for all. It’s warm, welcoming, experienced vetted teaching artists from around the world at the ready to share and care for your children. It’s a “judgement free zone” to explore self expression. Gender expression. Cultural expression. Artistic expression. Each Tendú and Time Step taught is just a vehicle to impart greater knowledge; giving all who walk through our space a way to speak up for themselves. A way to build confidence and self worth. A way to MORE.
