WR Arts’ Summer Covid-19 Health & Safety Measures
*AS OF MARCH 7TH 2022, vaccination and masking policies have changed for patrons of Dance Studios. Please continue to WATCH THIS SPACE, as requirements will change.
Noted below is the safety measures implemented for summer 2021 programing. As updates follow, we will notify enrolled families of any changes and will continue to update this and our WR:COVID-19 webpages
WR Arts has implemented the following studio safety measures and expectations of staff members:
WR Arts will provide a clean space, with hand sanitizer at your disposal, disinfected at the start of day and sanitized continuously/ after each activity.
The WR Arts ventilation system has been serviced and fitted with new filters. Additionally, in-studio air purifiers with HEPA filters have been installed. When able, all doors will remain open to better circulate outdoor air.
WR Arts has marked off personal dancing spaces (3 ft boxes), to visually remind our students and teachers to keep safe.
WR Arts staff and its Teaching Artists will be pre-screened (temperature check and questionnaire) prior to entering the studio space. If a teacher is unwell, advance notice will be given in hopes of rescheduling your class time. If not possible, our teachers may instruct from home with WR’s on site staff on hand as a teaching assistant proxy, or as the substitute for the day.
WR Arts will be operating with a reduced adult imprint in studio. Please be mindful of this in the following requirements/ requests made.
When weather permits, classes and activities may be shifted outside in order to limit our time indoors!
In support of the safest experience for our students, families and WR Arts staff members, we require that all parties adhere to the following guidelines and requirements:
Families will be required to review and sign our updated liability waiver on behalf of your child.
While not required, we do appreciate your monitoring and reporting of your child’s temperature in advance of entering our studio space. If you are comfortable with WR staff taking your child’s temperature, let us know and we’ll gladly do so in your presence.
Mask up! Masks or other facial coverings that cover the nose and mouth must be worn upon entering the building and must remain on. Students will be permitted to “step out” of an exercise when needed to temporarily de-mask until they feel better. Students with pre-existing medical conditions that make dancing while masked will be handled with extra care. Please inform us directly of any precautions that need to be accounted for.
As always, Hand sanitizer will be available throughout our facility.
New Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures:
The waiting area is effectively closed until further notice. No one will be permitted to wait in the reception area or anywhere else in the building.
Students will be escorted from outside to our dancing space by WR Arts staff only. Students may be able to stash their belongings (Coat, dance bag, outdoor clothing) in our hallway cubby space.
Come well hydrated! Water will only be available by purchase. Students will need to bring their own water bottles.
3 & 5pm pick up locations include 573 Metropolitan Ave, McCarren Park & Jaime Campez Playground. All pick up locations will be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance.
What should my child wear & bring?
Clothing:
Please send your child in clothing that they feel comfortable moving in! Please avoid dresses, skirts or other movement restrictive clothing.
We will not be changing any students into leotards or other dance outfits. If they wish to wear a leotard, we recommend under dressing (arriving in street clothes OVER leotard).
Pack an extra layer for your child as the studio air conditioner keeps the space cool.
Other things to bring:
Lunch + snacks (nut-free ONLY). WR Arts will provide optional nut free snacks such as fruit, sun chips, goldfish.
Swimsuit, towel and hat for the park.
If your child has any skin sensitivities we recommend packing personal sunscreen. WR Arts will require that all children apply sunscreen before leaving for the park and will provide spray sunscreen.
What classes & activities are offered?
Classes include but are not limited to Creative Movement, Hip Hop, International Dance, Ballet, Music & Singing, and Theater. Classes rotate and are geared towards the student’s interests.
Other activities include arts & crafts, reading & nature walks!
Can I drop my child off before 9am?
No. Doors will open at exactly 9am. If you require an early drop off, please email us and we will do our best to accommodate at an additional fee.
Can I meet the staff & see the space before camp?
Yes! We will have optional camp orientations where you can pop by to meet us! Dates and times TBD but in the meantime, get to know us on Instagram @WeAreWR!
